Classroom timers for HSC exams - how do you pick the correct timer?

If you are a school looking for a digital timer for HSC exams, the choice can be daunting.

SCC20 Digital timer for HSC exams

This is the SCC20 timer with 10cm high LED digits. Perfect for up to 50 metres.

You can really reduce the options down very quickly if you can answer the following questions:

  • How far does it have to be read over? This will tell you the minimum size the digits need to be.

  • How long is the maximum exam or period you need to time? Six digits (HH:MM:SS) will enable you to time any period up to 99 hours or a bit over 4 days. 4 x digit timers only offer you a maximum of 99 minutess which is not enough for most exams.

The most popular timers for HSC exams are the SCC20 and SCC22 timers.

These both have 6 x digits so can be used to time any period up to 4 x days!

Both timers have the same functions....you just need to decide what distance you need to read the timer over.

  • SCC20 is up to 50M viewing distance.
